More Effective Health Care = Higher Costs

Related article: Too Many Customers

As we ponder spending $trillions to create another echelon in the seemingly endless parade of financial parasites wanting to suck on a faceless government, may I please ask one question?

Let's assume government-run heath care works properly, and as a result people live longer. Does that make it any less expensive for all those extra people to get sick and die?

Unless the government postpones death infinitely (please permit me to remain doubtful), the best health care on the planet is nothing but money spent to defer the same costs later.
